John Markovich
Chief Credit Officer — FirstBank

John Markovich serves as Chief Credit Officer and a member of the Senior Leadership Team of FirstBank, headquartered in Lakewood, Colorado. In his current role, Mr. Markovich leads all operational facets of the company’s lending activities including loan product and portfolio composition strategies, credit quality, loan technology roadmap, and operational risk oversight. John’s department level leadership includes Mortgage and Consumer Lending, Commercial Lending and Loan Servicing. 

Markovich joined FirstBank in 2006 and held a variety of leadership roles including Managing Officer of Credit, head of Capital Markets, and President of Commercial Lending Operations prior to his promotion to Chief Credit Officer. Prior to joining FirstBank, Markovich served as a Sustainable Economic and Organizational Development Volunteer with the United States Peace Corps in Kyrgyzstan. 

Outside of the bank, Mr. Markovich serves on the Board of Directors for Florence Crittenton Services in Denver, Colorado and is past Treasurer for the Colorado Association of REALTORS® Housing Opportunity Fund (CARHOF).

Markovich is a graduate of Colorado State University with a B.S. in Business Administration and a 2014 graduate of Pacific Coast Banking School.
